Les Miserable :: English Literature

Les wofulRESPONSE PHASEWe were introduced to 2 distinct drama textbooks. Text one was a songcalled Another twenty-four hours in Paradise by Phil Collins, a British singer,songwriter. The song was create verbally at around 1985. Text cardinal is an back down from the musical Les Miserable. The extract is called LookDown and is set on the streets of Paris in 1832. For text one we wereasked to listen to the song and discuss the storyline, themes and shares. The fact that the song is middling about people that are in povertyand how other people olfaction towards them. The lyrics from the song areabout two characters, a man who is a passer-by in the street and ahomeless woman in the street. She asks him for help. Sir can you helpme? But he ignores her, He pretends he cant sample her. The manrepresents ignorance and the woman represents poverty. Phil Collinsdirects the song at us by saying Its another day for you and me inParadise. He actor that were in paradise compared to the lives ohhomeless people.We were also asked to read the script from Les Miserable theextract is called Look Down. We each picked a character and pastce weread the script. Les Miserable is about the life of woeful people inParis and they want to start a revolution against the Frenchpolitical science and the monarchy. However, they all say that they needLamarque but he is ill.The similarities between the two texts are they both are about povertyand how higher conformation people feel towards them and they help the lightor not. Basically, the theme of the two texts are that they are set inBritain around 1985 - 1990, the same clip it was written.There are three levels of comfort-image I played a poor woman on thestreet asking for money. There was another character sit on thefloor. There was also another character sitting in his shop watchingfrom the window. I also did a idea track for my character, sayingaloud the thoughts of the character. Face expression is veryimportant.We ha d to do a still image of a character from Les Miserable I posedas Gavroche. I was standing, looking towards the ground and I lookedmiserable, then I had to speak aloud the thoughts of Gavroche. I saidthat I was just a child trying to survive from a terrible life styleand I wished that Lamarque were here to help me and other people likeme. The characters still image (as Gavroche) was similar to thecharacter I created for the song because they were both poor and
